Harvesting Hope: Year Three

Since 2014, A Rocha Peru, in partnership with ContourGlobal, has reforested 12 hectares of dry forest and has been promoting social development in Talara, northern Peru. This video tells the story of the third year of the project, narrated by those involved in the project, such as Victor, the Vicepresident of the environmental club ‘A Rocha Kids’ and Ilmer, a field worker from one the neighbourhood councils in Talara. We explore the impact that reforestation has had for native flora and fauna, including the natural regeneration of native plants, and the increase of active nests belonging to the endangered Peruvian Plantcutter bird. Watch our video to learn more about the impact the project is having in the lives of the local communities.
