Oscar joined the Advisory Council since the founding of A Rocha Peru. He holds a Forestry Engineering degree from UNALM-Peru, a Masters in Engineering and Planning from UNAM-Mexico, and pursued his doctorate in Economics from the UNFV-Peru. Currently, he is a Professor of Environmental Economics in the Department of Engineering: Geography, Environment and Ecotourism at the UNFV. Among his professional experiences, Oscar has worked as a consultant in sustainable forestry for the Peruvian and Mexican government. He has also consulted ITTO, AID, OEA, FAO, GTZ, and JICA in forestry, natural resource management and environmental management. He is the author of the book “Valoración Económica de los Recursos Naturales y del Ambiente” and is also editor of “Sermón Ecológico: un encuentro de la fe cristiana con la crisis ambiental.” For Oscar, his role in A Rocha Peru is to share contacts and to support the reflection of environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
